10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Transportation will pick you up at 10:00 am at the Drury Inn & Suites along with those going to the Hollywood Casino. We will first travel about 20 minutes to the Hollywood Casino to drop off and then travel about 20 more minutes to drop off at the Franklin Park Conservatory.
Lunch will be on your own. The Conservatory has a Garden Cafe and Food Truck, both with delicious cuisine to enjoy. See the menus for each on the Conservatory’s website.
The Conservatory has a wonderful display of flora and fauna in a variety of greenhouses and outdoor gardens. Delight in the wonders of the Palm House and placement of glass works by Dale Chihuly interspersed among the horticulture. The Conservatory was originally opened in 1895 and renovated in 1992 for Ameriflora and again in 2008. This is truly worth a stop during any visit to Columbus.
USA Today marked the Franklin Park Conservatory as one of the 10 best reasons to explore Columbus. They said:
“For more than a century, the Franklin Park Conservatory has been attracting visitors to its award-winning gardens, Chihuly glass work and imaginative art exhibits. More than 400 plant species are displayed in a variety of greenhouses, which are fascinating to explore as they represent environments from the desert to the rainforest. The two-acre Children’s Garden showcases lots of interactive experiences for connecting with nature, like building your own fairy house or taking in the view from the treetop hammock.”
